SHS/BTC Campus Technology Meeting
January 3, 2008
7:35-8:30 a.m.

I. The meeting was opened with discussion on the matrix/survey that was distributed and data collected by Tommy Waltz and Penny Chamberlin.
There were two departments left to turn in their data and Tommy would have the results available for printing.
Tommy reported that we have 100 different courses (at this time) reported Campus wide. Significant numbers and data are being collected. This data will be able to provide us with what is our general coverage of the technology standards and what are the gaps.
Tommy is requesting that department heads see him regarding the format in which they would like to receive the data so they can lead discussions with their colleagues.
Two committee members will ask the Science and History departments for their data.
II. Reporting to the SU Board: Tommy will copy the committee with his final report of the data before it goes to the SU Board. An update will be given by Tommy at the next committee meeting.
III. Chris Moran (SHS website coordinator) met with the committee and brainstormed ideas on remodeling the current website. Discussion revolved around current state of the site, future needs, will the SHS and BTC websites be combined?,
The committee thought this discussion should go to the Leadership Team. Penny will ask Bob to add this to the next agenda for Lead. Team.
Committee thoughts around the “new” website: It should be easy for the teachers to use without much additional training, could there be survey capacity on the site, community forums to open up channels of communication, online forms for staff and faculty, online student management/grades options for parents to access and for teachers to communicate with parents.
Tommy invited Chris to join the IT Team Support meetings every Thursday at 10:00 a.m. This will bring Chris into discussions at the SU level.
Chris will create a list of questions, thoughts, and ideas that can be brought to the leadership team for discussion. Chris will email these to Penny and Tommy.
With no further discussion, the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting is set for February 8th at 7:35 a.m. in Room #126.
