A bit about myself...

  • I was born in Brattleboro, VT many years ago.  For most of my life I grew up in Strafford, VT; a lovely small town where the fact that we had no electricity did not raise eyebrows.
  • After graduation from Thetford Academy I moved to Florida to explore my inner child and escape the Vermont weather.  While there I worked as a Veterinary Technician.  It was at this point I found my true love for science.
  • I returned back to Vermont to pursue my love of science.  I attended Castleton State College for two years, then transferred to UVM.
  • At UVM I majored in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics.
  • My college and post-college research included:
    •  Aedes albopictus (the asian tiger mosquito) and its winter survivabilities
    • Schizophyllum commune (a common wood fungus) and their G-Protein Coupled Receptors
    • Eclampsia and Hypertension during pregnancy cause and effect (publication)
  • I then returned to UVM to obtain my master's in education to become a licensed and highly qualified teacher.
  • If you are interested in my professional life check out my resume
