A bit about myself...
I was born in Brattleboro, VT many years ago. For most of
my life I grew up in Strafford, VT; a lovely small town where the fact
that we had no electricity did not raise eyebrows.
After graduation from Thetford Academy I moved to Florida to
explore my inner child and escape the Vermont weather. While
there I worked as a Veterinary Technician. It was at this point I
found my true love for science.
I returned back to Vermont to pursue my love of science. I
attended Castleton State College for two years, then transferred to
UVM.
At UVM I majored in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics.
My college and post-college research included:
Aedes albopictus (the asian tiger mosquito) and its winter survivabilities
Schizophyllum commune (a common wood fungus) and their G-Protein Coupled Receptors
Eclampsia and Hypertension during pregnancy cause and effect (publication)
I then returned to UVM to obtain my master's in education to become a licensed and highly qualified teacher.
