RE: Phoenix Program/ End of Year
Report
As another school year comes to an end, we would like to share with the board some Phoenix results from 2000/2001. We will have 15 graduates this year and worked with a total of 33 students and their families. Once again the success our students are experiencing far outweighs their failures. Heroin continues to be a factor that adversely effects some of our population but even there, we are reclaiming some students thought lost.
The Phoenix Program is gaining statewide notoriety as a model for alternative education with many districts inquiring as to "how we do it". The Vermont State Senate Education Committee visited and held a hearing at our facility this past winter and was very impressed with both our results and operation.
