RE: Phoenix Program/ End of
Year Report
With the end of the 2001-02 school year fast approaching it is once again my pleasure to share with the board some Phoenix Program results. We have worked with 35 students this year and will have 27 graduates in the class of 2002. At last count the Phoenix Program represents 11.7% of this years senior class at Spaulding.
Our students have future plans ranging from work to the military service and both community as well as four-year colleges. More of our students took SAT’s this year than ever before. We also worked closely with the Northfield School District to start an alternative program modeled after Phoenix, which will begin next school year.
Along with the Vermont Consortium
for
Successful High School Completion and Norwich University the Phoenix
Program
was an active participant in the making of a video seen on WCAX channel
3 on May 30, 2002.
