DUTIES OF THE BOARD CHAIRPERSON
1.0 The chairperson of the Board, in addition to the duties
prescribed by law, will exercise such powers as
properly pertain to the office. In carrying out the
duties of the office, the chairperson will:
1.1 Preside at all meetings of the Spaulding High
School Union District Board.
1.2 Appoint the members and the chairperson of
standing committees of the Board as prescribed
in policy BCE.
1.3 Sign all contracts, including professional
contracts, on behalf of the Board when authorized
by a majority of the Board present and voting.
1.4 Bring before the Board such matters as, in the
chairperson's judgement, may require the attention
of the Board.
1.5 Call special meetings of the Board when necessary.
1.6 Consult with the Superintendent in planning
agendas. (BDA 1.2)
1.7 Confer with the Superintendent on crucial matters
which may occur between Board meetings.
2.0 In the absence of the chairperson, the vice-
chairperson will exercise the powers and perform the
duties of the chairperson.
