VOTING METHOD

1.0 All members of the board shall have an equal vote. In
accordance with the parliamentary authority adopted by
the board, a member may vote aye, nay, or abstain.

2.0 Voting shall be by one of the following methods: by
voice, by show of hands or by recording the yeas, nays,
and abstentions. Any one member may require a vote by
show of hands or the recording of yeas or nays.

3.0 A secret written ballot will be used when voting for
members of the Supervisory Union Board and/or replacement
of members of the district board when a vacancy occurs.

4.0 Although it is a duty of all board members who have an
opinion to vote, a member may abstain, since no member
can be compelled to vote.

5.0 In all cases the names of those in the minority and those
who abstain shall be recorded in the minutes of the
meeting along with the total number of votes in favor,
against, and abstaining.

6.0 No action of a School Board shall be valid except upon
the approval of the majority of the members of the board
present at a legally called meeting.
