EVALUATION OF PROFESSIONAL STAFF:

1.0 Evaluation of teachers will be directed toward improving instruction and to assure the objectives of the district are being met. The system shall be designed to offer guidance and assistance that permits the staff member to analyze his/her own practices and work toward greater teacher effectiveness.

2.0 A continuous plan for teacher evaluation and supervision shall be established by the superintendent in consultation with the staff and approved by the Board. The process and procedures of evaluation will be subject to continuing review and appraisal, with substantive changes subject to Board approval.

3.0 Teachers will be administratively evaluated at least once each year during the first two years of employment. After two years, there will be appropriate supervision. The evaluation shall be placed in the individual's personnel file.
