COMPOSITION OF THE BASIC STAFFING TEAM:

1.0 The Spaulding High School Union District is responsible for appointing a Basic Staffing Team (BST) to perform or
arrange for special education comprehensive evalu-
ations/re-evaluations and to determine special
education eligibility according to appropriate state
and federal regulations. The Director of Special Services

or his/her designee, shall appoint the BST.

2.0 The BST shall be composed of one or more of the student's
teachers, a certified special educator with knowledge in the student's suspected area of educational problem, and the Director of Special Services and/or designee. Other individuals will be appointed as appropriate to the student's suspected problem.

3.0 Parents shall be invited to participate in evaluation
planning by being given an opportunity to provide the BST with information; but are not members of the BST.
