ATHLETIC PROGRAM GOALS:
Athletes shall:
- demonstrate care and support for those involved in the program
- demonstrate a positive attitude through a commitment to improvement and a willingness to learn
- address and share their concerns with the coach(es) and attempt to resolve them
- accept and be committed to the program's rules, philosophy, goals, and regulations as outlined by the school, Vermont Principal's Association, athletic director, and coaches.
Coaches shall:
- provide opportunities for the development of sportsmanship, personal growth, athletic skills, team spirit, and leadership experience
- bring to the program leadership, enthusiasm, creativity, concern for all participants and a commitment to excellence
- provide encouragement to all participants through the recognition of athletic accomplishments.
Superintendent, Principal, and Athletic Director shall:
- insure that the program's goals and activities are meeting the needs of Spaulding students
- provide clear and consistent leadership
- establish and equip the athletic program appropriately and provide for the maintenance and improvement of facilities
- recruit, support, and retain coaches who understand and adhere to the purposes of the program and who demonstrate enthusiasm, creativity, and excellence while working with young athletes
- recognize and reward dedication and outstanding performance by athletes.

Parents and Supporters of the Athletic program:
- are encouraged to understand and support the philosophy and goals of the athletic program
- are expected to permit the athlete and the coach (es) to resolve their concerns first before becoming involved; then, if necessary, to meet with the coach, the Athletic Director, and finally with the Principal
- are encouraged to maintain the tradition and pride of the Spaulding athletic program and explore ways to strengthen community support of it
- are encouraged to recognize excellent performance by athletes, teams, coaches.
