COPYRIGHTS

1.0 The Spaulding High School Union District adheres to the
provisions of the Copyright Act of 1976. Duplication of
copyrighted materials without prior written permission
from the owner is prohibited except under the fair use
doctrine described in Section 107 of the Act.

2.0 The administration shall develop procedures to implement
this policy. The implementation procedures should take
into consideration:

2.1 the "Guidelines for Classroom Copying in Not-For-
Profit Educational Institutions"

2.2 the "Guidelines for Off-Air Recording of Broadcast
Programming for Educational Purposes" (developed by
the Kastenmeier Subcommittee of the U.S. House
Judiciary Committee in 1979)

2.3 the "Guidelines for Educational Uses of Music"
(published by the Media and Technology Services Area
of the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction in 1979)

2.4 the guidelines for the protection of microcomputer
software (developed by the International Council for
Computers in Education, University of Oregon).
